I think it is very much a case of won’t now. It would be harsh to say it about his overall tenure but the spending taps are definitely off now. Carlo saw the £1.7m summer coming and thought better of it.

I wouldn’t blame him for not wanting to spend any more, rightly or wrongly it seems the more he spends the more unpopular he becomes.
