Who was Frank calling out?

We’ve all heard or read the comments from Lampard after the Palace game but who was it aimed at do you think? I personally think he’s had enough of the woeful efforts of Gomes and Holgate at times, Keane? Is he fed up of Richarlison offering little?

You have to start at the back, we haven’t had a settled back 3, 4 or 5 all season. But tbh I think all of them, moment the first goal goes in, we were done. It seems to be happening all the time now. I’d be amazed if we at any time of this season come back to win, or even draw from conceding first.

Someone said at work today if we went down the vultures would be circling, my response was for what!? The goalposts none of them at the moment are fit to wear the shirt, not one of them.

We’ve built a terrible team over the last 6 years or so.

We are so unbelievably soft, everyone knows we are.

It's easier to rule out players from this statement. The only ones I don't think this was aimed at are Gordon, Richarlison, Pickford and Coleman. I think the rest could easily be the targets of that criticism.

Completely agree with this. I think Frank was calling the lot of them out on their defeatest attitude. They go 1-0 down and they can't cope so they take the easy way out and give up.

When Frank was a player he was a winner and he played with other winners. I imagine he used to going into games believing he can win. To see his players give up must really annoy him.

Hard to see that as anything other than an attack on the senior players. Bottle or lack of it is a consequence of problems with leadership within the squad.

That said, he has the means to change it to an extent and hasn't really done so thus far.

I'm not sure who he was calling out but I would imagine some of the players will be thinking he should be coming in for more criticism.
He continues to play a two man midfield when all what we see every week is us being outnumbered and teams sailing past us in the middle third of the pitch. That inevitably makes Doucoure and whoever else may be partnering him reluctant to go forward. The result? A midfield too short of numbers to protect its back four and too conscious of that to risk supporting the front 3.
It's said a lot on this forum, and it's right -- string 4 or 5 across the middle row.

It was the squad. And we all know he was right. Despite the "gash" "terrible" shouts lobbed at some players, to get anywhere near the PL, you are a talented footballer. Top few % in the world.

Its attitude, obvs. And if you are playing against another PL team with similar talent, but better attitude, well, here we are. Roy Keane and Stuart Pearce were in the relegated Forest team 20 odd years ago. No one would accuse them of lack of bottle. But it has to be a team. Not a few committed players.

The dry rot has done the damage. Frank has just signed the survey report on a crumbling house. We might stay up, but that fundamental issue (squad) will still be here.
