Who was Frank calling out?

We’ve all heard or read the comments from Lampard after the Palace game but who was it aimed at do you think? I personally think he’s had enough of the woeful efforts of Gomes and Holgate at times, Keane? Is he fed up of Richarlison offering little?
They ALL need calling out! Maybe Gordon, Richarlison not so much. The rest, look like league 2 players, masquerading as premier league players. For their sake, thank God they don't rely on performance related pay, or goal bonuses!!
Never seen professional "international" footballers look so inept, out of their depth. The worst squad weve ever had, in my match going days. 69-.

I’m still confused why Townsend getting injured immediately made us stop pressing against Palace.

It was bizarre. It was like they just all of a sudden decided they couldn’t be arsed.

It was going okay up to then. Palace we’re making mistakes and we were shooting and stuff like that! And winning corners!

Then nothing.

In hindsight Frank must have seen this, I don’t get why he didn’t jump on them then and keep shouting “press press press”. They need instructions. They’re not going to shout back “I can’t..”.

You can’t just ask them to do it then when they stop just say nothing. Even at halftime. Weird, but I appreciate Frank is not that Arteta / Conte animated type.
Great post.

I'd like to see Lampard succeed as a young British manager, and especially now he's ours.

But body language, animation, comms in the game are massive areas for his development. Look at his reaction when Derby went 1-0 in their play off final. My doubts in his potential are a) the kack he brought at Chelsea and b) crucially his body language in that Derby game. Most valuable game in football (quite aside from the lift for players, club and fans etc) and he just slunk off to the bench. Imagine what a player needs at that moment.

Don't necessarily need Conte animations but still a big area for improving. Slamming players after the game is stable door and negative.

I worry for us now, but that's not Frank's doing. The bottle this club had subsided after 1.5 seasons of Martinez and everything since has been lipstick on a pig.

Need to rebuild with the players a previous post above flags. If that's from the Championship to rid us of this cancerous ownership, so be it.

We're a shambles. The defence are poor but they have nothing in terms of protection from the midfield. Yeah Pickford might make the odd error but he has nothing in front of him either. They just walk past out midfield and we are constantly over run. He needs to change something quickly

He was calling out everyone as there is very few players in our entire squad who have the balls to go toe to toe with any team.

someone repeated a timeless quote at the weekend, cant remember which game. All pro footballers at premier league level are good players. They are all elite. the quote related to having to earn the right to play once togger, most of our cretins expect to be able to do their training ground strutting in a PL game without having earned the right to strut. A[art from 2 or 3, they can all go in the bin. I'm backing Frank to sort it (if we stay up)

If the players had a conscience they would know if they've not been doing well enough

They should then show fight on the pitch which we ain't doing

Sleepwalking into disaster they are

Shout at them? Oh dear, the cup cakes won't like that, will they. The poor souls.
Who can forget the derby cup defeat a couple of seasons ago at the tin mine when after the game Big Dunc reportedly laid into them for being unprofessional. He was argued against by some of the senior pros, and was escorted out of the changing room to prevent an altercation.
Therefore, it appeared , in the players eyes, The Big Man was deemed to be in the wrong. Which is garbage. The entire team should have been told to put on their 'big boy's pants' and instructed to buck up, or buck off.
Whatever was rotten that night was brushed over and mediocrity became the new acceptable standard.
This largely why we find ourselves where we are today.
