Who was Frank calling out?

The trick now is ,does Lampard give these guys yet another chance to try and make amends. Or does he boot them into row z. Never to be seen in an Everton shirt again. I know what I would do. Getting fed up now with the same players always messing up. Players that have been producing these awful results now for close to give years. And it's always a must win game that they fail to deliver in. When do we produce when the pressure is on? Not very often. And it's the same old useless players.
So here's Hoping that Lampard now sticks to his guns. Drops the waste of space players that have been letting us all down now for years. And puts a few youngsters in. And keeps them in. 5-0 and 4-0 defeats in recent weeks. Would Patterson. Mylenko. Branthwaite. Dobbin. Price. Onyango. would they have fared much worse?

Keane and Holgate are useless. Not many clean sheets with those two. Coleman is finished. The sooner our manager realised that the better. Gomes is useless. Gray.......hit and miss. Richardson ( will be very good in a top team) . That is not us. Gordon needs to score more.
Kenny ( tries.....but not very good). Ali ( now We know why spurs got shot of him).
DCL?? Rondon?? Godfrey?? DVDB?? Doucoure?? I'm not sure about these guys. Good in one match. Rubbish in other matches.
And as for Pickford. I'd trade him in and go all out for Henderson or Forster. And
Only oldie that imo deserves his place is Allen. Until.we get better .
Rant now over. Lampard now needs to be courageous. Dump our useless waste of space players. They will drag him and everyone down to the champuonship. Give a few of our youngsters a proper chance.
Up The Toffees. Our boll--k challenged Toffees.......

Dont think it was any specific player.

It was the squad. And we all know he was right. Despite the "gash" "terrible" shouts lobbed at some players, to get anywhere near the PL, you are a talented footballer. Top few % in the world.

Its attitude, obvs. And if you are playing against another PL team with similar talent, but better attitude, well, here we are. Roy Keane and Stuart Pearce were in the relegated Forest team 20 odd years ago. No one would accuse them of lack of bottle. But it has to be a team. Not a few committed players.

The dry rot has done the damage. Frank has just signed the survey report on a crumbling house. We might stay up, but that fundamental issue (squad) will still be here.

I’m still confused why Townsend getting injured immediately made us stop pressing against Palace.

It was bizarre. It was like they just all of a sudden decided they couldn’t be arsed.

It was going okay up to then. Palace we’re making mistakes and we were shooting and stuff like that! And winning corners!

Then nothing.

In hindsight Frank must have seen this, I don’t get why he didn’t jump on them then and keep shouting “press press press”. They need instructions. They’re not going to shout back “I can’t..”.

You can’t just ask them to do it then when they stop just say nothing. Even at halftime. Weird, but I appreciate Frank is not that Arteta / Conte animated type.

Just an opinion. But........Pickford. Makes everyone around him nervous. Coleman. Never was a great defender. Keane . Nervous type. Holgate. Was never that good. Kenny. Same as Holgate. Godfrey. Could be ok with proper players around him.....maybe. Doucoure. Not great. Gomes. Useless. Townsend. Ok. But not great. Gordon. Needs proper team mates around him. And needs to score more. Gray. Hit an miss...imo. And Richarlson......top player. Not a centre foward. Better when cutting in. Will move on and look very good with better players around him.

So that's a nervous keeper and a nervous CB. Three not great defenders.
One defender ( Godfrey) who could be anything. A near useless midfield.
Two wingers that don't score enough. And Richarlson.
So who was Lampard calling out? Let me think. The whole bloody lot of them. God help us . That bunch are going to keep us in the Premier league. And what then for next season? God knows.

Can Lampard now change things around? He has to. Because I don't think that that bunch are going to do much.
Think that it now has to be a regular traditional back four. No frills. Just defend. Boot the ball into row z when necessary.
Then five across the middle. Three players shoring up the middle of the pitch ( no gomes). And two wide men. Tracking back when needed. ( Gordon and Richarlson). And DCL or even Rondon up top. That's 4-5-1.
Tough times ahead with this bunch. But at least try and be solid.
try and defend. The odd draw along with a few wins might be enough.
But just stop this nonsense collapsing to 4-0 and 5-0 defeats.
Tough times ahead mr Lampard........I hope that you have the B-LLS to deal with what's coming.

This is almost the same group of players that were chasing Europa League for nearly all of last season and even had eyes on the top four at different times.

Injuries and, it must be said, a mistake in managerial appointment has seemingly eroded the confidence and the fight of a lot of these players.

We don't need to get rid of them all but we do have to surround them with strong characters and leaders.

I think I have probably never seen a team with so few leaders in it.
Coleman certainly is a leader but none of Keane,Coleman,Holgate,Allan, Go es ,Doucoure, Gray ,Iwobi or even DCL seem to have any leadership qualities.

I think Gordon is standing out because it is obvious he is trying to inspire his team names as well as play his own game.

Two or three of the right type of player could substantially change the team

It doesn't lack for talent as much as heart.

Keane, Holgate, Doucoure, Gomes, probably not the forwards, maybe Richy's finishing but missing chances happens, they weren't at fault for the woeful defending. He seems enamored with Kenny and Coleman despite them being about as useful as an umbrella in the desert so I doubt it was them.
Umbrella could be used as an effective parasol in these circumstances

Gordon in place of James and/or Voldemort is the most obvious difference between this year and last. Digne obviously is a change, but he missed his fair share last season as well and had flattered to deceive for a while, but Godfrey did better at left back than any other position anyway. Mina when he's fit, but he missed chunks last year too. Gray is an improvement on Bernard.

So either, we really badly miss Davies (we've been poor since he was injured) or the tremendous downgrade from James or Gylfi the ghost to, apparently our best player, "Scrappy Doo" Gordon. Imagine him getting a goal or assist out of nothing. Be something else that wouldn't it.

I think from a management perspective he's just discretely assinated Coleman, with that general critiscm of the squad it has by default brought into question the team captains role, in my eyes the guy on the pitch with the armband gives his heart and soul every game but has never held others to the same standard and has never been a true genuine leader, manager after bloody manager has kept Coleman as captain and I think Frank's got other ideas

I’m highly critical of our youth players from a skill level but I do know there are a few with the required energy, pace and mettle that one requires in a relegation fight. Skill certainly isn’t on show regardless in the first XI.
I'd be happy to see them being used just from being committed 100% to the cause. Sick of players that jog and walk around for 90 mins. Don't understand why we haven't taken any kind of a gamble with a couple of them.

To sort of answer the op. If I had to pick one player I think it was aimed at, then I'd say Andre Gomes.

What does this feller even do? Our midfield is so unimaginative with the ball, and it's what this feller is meant to bring to the table.

If he was energetic, and buzzing around the pitch, playing simple passes to knit things together, you could forgive him for taking the safe option on the ball. If he was winning the ball back and picking up runners, you could forgive him for taking the safe option. He does none of them things though. Not particularly comfortably anyway.

We need this feller to be trying imaginative and killer balls. Just take some chances. It doesn't matter if you give the ball away a few times. we're rubbish in possession anyway. At least try and do something positive with it before we inevitably surrender possession.

I'll repeat, this feller brings nothing else to the table. He's meant to be a creative central midfielder. He makes Tom Davies look like Paul Scholes. At Least Allen and Doucoure bring other attributes to the team, whilst hardly being visionary playmakers.

Hopefully now we've got no cup tied players, he won't get in the team before VDB and Dele.
