Having grown up with the CL being the Everest of club football with the earliest memory being a Van Basten bicycle kick from the edge of the penalty box, a CL final at Villa park (or Istanbul) with 10k in attendance is wrong. It can’t be helped of course, but this ain’t the CL.

A League Cup final (or even FA Cup final) you can get away with a sparse crowd as it ain’t the ultimate club game; the same doesn’t apply to a CL final. Bayern vs PSG last year was bizarre.

More people attend a Bournemouth home game than will be at the upcoming CL final. It’s meant to be the pinnacle club game for a player, but this will be far from it. As well as that it’s the ultimate club game for fans, tens of thousands travelling en masse to another European city. Denied. A World Cup final being affected like this would have been unthinkable but that is now a real possibility.

Support is a big word, as it has been a very long time ago, I actually watched any CL match. Just can't be bothered with it. But would've been on City's side for this one. After the ESL breakaway attempt though, I only wish both clubs lots and lots of misery.

And here comes a favourite CL and EL Final topic... with Turkey on the Red List are we going to see sense? Or not?

I have long advocated when Arsenal met Chelsea it didn't have to take place in Baku
When Spurs played the RS it didn't have to take place in Madrid, Chelsea-United in Moscow and now this one..

the solution is so simple but beyond UEFA - postpone using Istanbul (or whereever) for one year when the two finalists (and all their fans) can watch it in a suitable neutral venue in their own country.. and keep the rota as it is but delay it by one year. (Madrid-Ath. Madrid in Portugal maybe wasn't such a big deal, especially as, in the interest of fairness Barcelona would have been the logical alternative in Spain and that's about the same distance).

It's not as though they didn't find a compromise last season for the last few rounds one-leg matches in the 2 competitions.

Kind of a Hobson's Choice to support one or the other. If Chelsea win then City just buy another six superstars (Ed: Maybe they will anyway). If City win it's Sports Washing.. So, short of suggesting what's that word again, a football related (p-n-e-ic), let's go with Chelsea.. after a snore-fest 2-1 on penalties. Ross Barkley returns from loan and is a late inclusion, getting sent off after 20 minutes. Aguero reveals his 1878 T-shirt when he swaps shirts at the end. John Terry collects the trophy of course.

See one reason i want Chelsea is even though it funny seeing City topping Liverpool, i still dont like them, however Chelsea will always be important to me, i will be forever graftful they beat Bolton in 1998 for us and after the game i can still remember the interview with Sir Gianluca Vialli who said it was important to them to go out and play well because it wouldnt be fair to Everton if they didnt. Even though they played the UEFA cup final a few days later they took this fixture serious, without that we would of been relegated. So for me they are a special club, not just because of Demba Ba!!

I wan't City to win this, and the FA cup final as well.

If it can't be Everton, I want another Premier team to rub the RS noses right in it.
FA Cup is off the table for City mate.

I wanted City to win the quadruple to put the hurt on the rs but a treble will have to suffice.

Empty stadia in Qatar has a definite appeal to it.

Seems too obvious to switch it to Wembley.
Give it back to Istanbul next year (or as soon as possible if next year's venue is sorted).
Can't see them minding too much as surely they would rather have a full stadium and the extra revenue from the travelling fans.

Wembley cant host it, play off weekend.

I would prefer City to win it as they play the best football but I'm not too fussed as long as it is a good game.

Also it would be pretty funny if Tuchel won it after only 4 months at Chelsea having never managed it with PSG.
