Man City were lingering in the 3rd tier of English football as recent as the late 90s, whilst Chelsea were winning FA cups and playing CL semis in the 90s with players like Guillit, Deschamps, Desailly etc. If you talk about history, well Chelsea beat Man City in the semis of the Cup Winners Cup of 1971, so there's that.

Both clubs are odious, but Man City just a little bit more. I've disliked them since their Maine Road days and the amount of crap you used to get coming out of the Platt Lane if we'd managed to turn them over, and add to that the pretty poisonous stuff they've posted about us and the city of Liverpool generally over on that vile site Bluemoon.

I hope Chelsea win, but will hardly be cheering to the rafters if it happens because they're not a likeable club. I'll switch straight other and watch something else should it happen.

It's a more neutral venue in a City that wouldn't normally get a Final like this in modern times
