I mean, Martinez showed what he could do but his stubborness is what cost him his job. He isn't an awful manager, two semi's and a season which normally gets 4th comfortably. There was always the potential for progress with Martinez but he did not learn from his mistakes while on the job. Martinez forme would be a good manaer with DOF who had full control of siging players to match the passing philosophy. However the alledged lack of set piece training while here would be a concern.

The big question for me, has Roberto Martinez learnt from his mistakes? I have faith he can get sides playing football I just would be wary of whether or not he is able to adapt to difference situations and utilise a plan B and plan C. As Interim I would see it as an okay move, give him an opportunity ot show he has learned from the past, while not commiting to anything from our point of view with the aimto review at the end of the season about how to move forward.

Would he get the best out of DCL? He's strong in his general play for me and I cant help but feel Martinez'style would suit him. On the flip side, I feel Richarlison, Gray and Gordon could really flourish.

Couldn't of put it better myself.

If it is Bobby brown shoes til the end of the season to sort out the mess, clearly none of the board have any clue that the defence is our biggest mess.

Keane should have been benched after the first few games of the season. It beggars belief that he was allowed to carry on seemingly without fear of being dropped.

Coleman was hung out to dry by a manager that kept playing him when it was clear he was becoming a liability.

Godfrey was a beacon of hope that we could get it right in the transfer market but even he has suffered under the prehistoric tactics that rafweasel deployed.

Martinez was a nice guy that got Everton but he is the last person on earth who could organise a defence.

If he does come in hopefully he will get bodies into midfield aim for more than 20-30% possession that the recently departed seemed to favour and we might score more than we concede.

Clueless this board though.

The defense is only a mess because of recruitment. If Everton buy better defenders there is no defensive issues.

Martinez wouldn’t be a bad choice. We played some lovely football with and we had one of our best seasons in god knows how long. It would of been interesting to see what he would of done with the hundreds of millions we have wasted since we sacked him.
Maybe in your universe but in this one that’s absolutely delusional. Read the Liverpool 4 Everton 0 match report and keep reading it until you’ve understood it.
