It’s a product of our bonkers ownership, they have properly backed us into a corner where I reckon options are really limited, Benitez should have gone after the Derby and get someone in ahead of the transfer window.
I doubt right now many managers would fancy it, mid transfer window, fpp issues. I guarantee kenwright is banging on the ‘it has to be a blue’ drum.
Options seem to be:
Martinez on a short term deal
Ferguson on an interim
Rooney
Some might argue that Martinez experience would be preferable over the potential inexperience of Ferguson and Rooney in what is undoubtedly a relegation scrap. Out of those three I honestly don’t know who is best, Ferguson has been here for multiple failed regimes, Rooney is a novice with no pressure but ultimately doing good at Derby, Martinez for all his faults has been around the block , managed at a higher level etc - but still…it’s a worry.
