Well we finished 10th last season. So prior to benitez, it certainly was top 10.

Ridiculous to suggest our squad is only mid table championship standard.

So, lets see, would Rondon, Tosun, Iwobi, Patterson, Keane, Holgate, Gbamin, Delph, Davies, Gomez, Mykolenko..(that's half our squad) make up a championship team.....they certainly have NO place in the PL!

We wouldn't get him because he wouldn't want to come. Brighton are a better prospect than we are, with better players playing for a well run club, they wouldn't need to make it impossible..

I don't agree there. We are dysfunctional obviously but I think there is a huge appeal in coming to Everton and "finally" being the manager first to stabilise and then to turn things around. And the new stadium coming hand in hand with that progress.

We have appointed awfully but that doesn't have to be a constant. We are not an elite club but such is the mishmash of The PL it doesn't take much at all in my view to have us on the fringe of the European places, presuming we avoid disaster this season.

Ultimately that might mean another Moyes to Utd type scenario as the prize for sorting Everton out where many tried and couldn't. But I'd settle for that right now.

jose and benitez both love to wreck clubs

both have a very similar approach to clubs, it's autocratic management which in team sports can work well but it can also backfire massively if the manager/head coach gets too power hungry.

This feels like a similar ‘panic mode’ from the club before we crazily went for Allardyce.

Obviously no contingency plans in place after Moshiri basically gave Benitez the keys to finch farm with ridiculous levels of control…before sacking him a few weeks later.

I think the way it’s panning out that our only options will end up being Ferguson or Rooney. It’ll surely be Ferguson for Villa.

Kovac is a disciplinarian but a proper and effective one - unlike that kopite disaster who some claimed was from that school.

Kovac will seriously clear off the wasters, not just antagonise everyone and lose every game he plays like Benitez.

Feels like Benitez was Moshiri’s last stand and now he doesn’t give a flying one. Only explanation I can think of.

Yeah that is what it looks like to me too. Its like he said feck it you can sack him and then just do what you want and then Bill went absolutely flying out the door like a headless chicken straight to his mate Roberto 'what a manager' Martinez and offered him a job.

It is the only thing that makes sense because no sane person would go back to an utter failure but you can believe it with Kenwright because he is insane.

Patterson hasn't kicked a ball for us yet. Adding Mykolenko seems quite harsh, too. Does our Seamus get a free pass due to his years of service?
