Turns out there wasn't much of a divide with Benitez in the end, it was unanimous.

Well he wouldn't divide the fans like that. The man loved nothing more than beating the reds. He's just not a very good manager any more. The game has moved on and his methods are no longer effective

In turn, this would create a divide though. There would be those thinking he could still deliver his past glories, and that includes beating the Reds, and then there would be those who know his methods are no longer effective. In the end, the divide would become unanimous, just like it did for United and Spurs fans.
