The manager left us with a team with morale on the floor. A team with no pattern of play. A team scared to get on the ball. A team terrified of set pieces.

Benitez absolutely destroyed us
if anyone has the players scared to be on the floor its the toxic fans.
Besides we havent had a pattern of play for a few years.
We were already destroyed before Rafael arrived, no wonder no one else wanted it.

2 weeks until the next game, plenty of time to get a manager in and a good number of days to get to know players and staff etc before the Brentford match.

What's that you say?

Oh sorry how stupid of me. Of course we'll appoint the new manager on the 3rd or 4th just before the next match.

Oh sir you have us all very wrong NEVER EVER want Everton to get beat.

Today was just a small part of the legacy that your boy has done to this club.
59 Points mate
We're looking to get to 40 if we're lucky.
Its irrepairable damage from Jaffa boy.
Rafael is blameless, wasnt him who injured the players, wasnt him who over the last few years built a shocking squad.
Shame it didnt work out for him, but it wasnt for the lack of trying, something we cant say about his scumbag predecessor.

I'm pretty well known that I think we should be going all out for Kovac. I think he would transform this club in a polar opposite way than Benitez did.

That being said, I don't hate either Lampard or Rooney. They absolutely are not my first choice but I think either could be good for us. But we absolutely need someone in soon.

Just really hope the club is keeping things REALLY close to the chest and Kovac is really being considered...

Would agree with Kovac mate, if Rooney or Lampard were coming in in the Summer, a pre - season behind them and money to spend would also agree, either of them coming in now, 5th from bottom and massive pressure I'm not sure mate.

I correctly and repeatedly tried to tell them this, but I guess the truth hurts.
The mess we created ourselves led us to appointing him, just like it did Sam.
People are already dismissing replacement managers before they have even arrived, laying the ground work to moan and be against whoever it is, Lampard, Rooney, Martinez, they all have a camp ready to go against them, the toxic culture is killing us along with Farhad.
Whoever comes in the fans have to get behind them and the team. I’m not saying we can’t make points about how the club is run etcetera but we are in a battle for survival in the PL and we all need to pull together until such times as we are safe.

Yes I agree with all of that, especially the Potter stuff. It's a different ball game here entirely. I'd honestly rather we get Ashworth than Potter, and crucially allow Ashworth to do his job.

I'd also like to see Cahill come on board, and Kenwright get sidelined.

Of the names above, if the structure doesn't change, Rooney will be the one who will fare best in the current system IMO as he will stand up to Kenwright.

Yes. I think I mentioned previously about jobs for the boys, to me it depends on who they are. If people go away, prove themselves etc I'm not sure it's fair to level them with that stick.

I had an argument with someone the other day about Cahill, saying he'd only get the job as he played for the club. This is a fella who has built a massive brand, worked on 4 different continents and earned plaudits, gone and got a business degree from a world leading university and is now running a big football club/academy structure over in the middle east. To top it off, he clearly loves and understands the club. The idea he couldn't add something to the club is ridiculous, and as you say that he gets lumped in with Jeffers or Baxter seems really odd.

Of the names above, I'd happily have Weir and Carsley involved. Arteta won't come back now. Rooney might. If you want to create a club culture, I suppose it needs to be the right people.

Ashworth as DOF and Cahill as CEO ?

Or what are you thinking?

Unsworth
Dunc
Ebbrell
Sharp
Baines
Jeffers
Jevons
*lescott
*cahill

Any one else they’re desperate to find a nice cozy job for?

I actually think its fine to employ people at the club who have played for us.

However, they need to have the actual attributes for the role.

If you look at Ajax, they brought in Van Der Sar as CEO. Overmars as DOF and of course have a mix of the best Dutch coaches along with old players at the club.

Im hoping that Cahill was there yesterday to negotiate his package to come in as CEO or DOF.

But im also hoping that we bring in coaches, scouts and recruitment specialists from overseas and boot Unsworth out of the academy.

He did drive Rodriguez and Digne out of the club though. At least his scumbag predecessor, was able to manage a top 10 finish.
