Well he won the cup with Frankfurt, beating Bayern in the final. Bayern's hierarchy saw him as a coach that could be 'up and coming' to replace Heynckes after he stepped in following Ancelotti's sacking, and he also played for the club so he knew how it worked etc. But he didn't have the man management for it and his tactics weren't up to much either - Frankfurt arguably got better under Adi Hutter, his replacement. Even that Spurs game, 3 of their goals IIRC were just brilliant Gnabry runs/finishes.

He left Frankfurt in 2018 and has now just been sacked by Monaco. He's a very Benitez type of manager in how he plays the game and I think we need to get away from that, personally.

Allardyce is a stain on our history. Should never have got a job here in the first place - going back to him, after he couldn’t save West Brom would be a disaster and would be more divisive than Benitez.

Necessary evil, he’d keep us up and gone by summer, personally can’t think of anyone else who will (out of the names mentioned), secondly we need a DOF first, buys us time. Just my opinion but who knows.

Reports earlier that Cahill was at the game yesterday. Had been some reports that the club were looking to appoint him into a senior role and that he played a significant role in getting Jamez out to Middle East . So could Cahill be potentially our new DoF ? Is it beyond expectations that we possible could see 2 roles been filled this week manager and DoF ? One other thing .. if it is to be Lampard .. Jodie Morris coming in as well plus and may get pelters for this but would also try and get Terry in as some defensive coach . We need 2 at least players in on loan .. Lampard reputation and contacts in the game may benefit us in the short term that’s for sure . Billy Gilmour ?
