I might be wrong but it does surprise me that they have interviews. It is not like a regular job. All the info about the possible new manager is available, previous jobs, stats relating to everything they have ever done etc. are freely available. Surely this is just Headhunting, the club does the research and makes an approach. Maybe they have some discussions but a formal interview?

Not meaning to be snide with you as I genuinely like you but it's something that a few people have gone over multiple times, myself included. Had nothing to do with his playing style or their current placement. He and the DoF really didn't get along, the DoF brought in coaches and physios that Kovac didn't like, there was a bit of a power struggle and Kovac lost. That's it. It's pretty available on the internets if you look for it too.

fair enough, I haven't seen that in here from anyone I'd asked until now. I've happily admitted that I didn't watch tons of his Monaco team. I know they did alright last season then dropped off towards the end. Last time I watched them was when they beat PSG but that was late 2020 I think!

I did watch his Frankfurt side and his Bayern side and I know it got pretty ropey towards the end in his spell at Bayern.

I also think he's a pretty poor man manager, but a decent tactical manager. I don't think he'd be the right pick for right now because of the lack of structure at the club.

Yes they have formal interviews in the vast majority of cases.
