No chance I'm answering the other question, although related, it seems to me that Hollywood casts so many actresses that look very similar to each other... make of this what you will.

As I said in the other thread, Julia Roberts is disarming and fun to watch. Someone mentioned Helena Bonham Carter who always fills a big character. I like Frances McDormand, who easily fills the quirky roles in Coen movies. But the best I've watched is Meryl Streep.

Yes Meryl Streep has got to be included in any list.

Not really super keen on musicals, but I did like Doris Day, specifically in 'Calamity Jane', and then I gots to thinking, Julie Andrews is a corker of a lady, chuffed cigars and swore worse than a ship full of sailors. A properly rum lass. Sometimes you've got to appreciate the day to day person when they're a character. Also Weaver.
