Why do Evertonians hate on ITKs?

There was a fella, a Dr if I recall rightly, who was the Chief European football writer for the Economist. Well ahead of the curve, only posted 100% verifiable information and yet took pelters online - particularly from Geordies and Rangers fans (they seemed to have it in for him I recall).

Long story short, he was sacked from the economist and doesn't post much ITK stuff now.

I've noticed a few giving that bobble grief, really don't see the issue of someone passing news on, I don't think any of them ever say they've got exclusive news. People just have to hate everything these days, society is in a sad state in 2022 if you ask me, civilisation going backwards.

He gets stick because he literally doesn't post anything of substance yet when people point this out you get jumped on by his weirdo mates/fans. All he does is post stuff that's already been put out there and adds no further real information.

Example of one of his typical tweets - "Everton have a strong interest in Morgan-Gibbs White but due to the clubs current financial situation they are finding negotiations with Wolves difficult. Talks still on-going."

Say there is interest.
Deal might get done.
Deal might not get done.

What has anyone really learnt? Sod all. And even if he really does get the odd bit of exclusive info, why even put it out there? Only hurting the club by leaking that sort of stuff, it could seriously scupper a transfer. ITKs (especially self-proclaimed ones) in general are almost pure attention-seekers after clicks. Desperate to feel like somebodies in the bright and glitzy world of football.

I think the Bobble is a really sound lad who does a decent service to Everton online. Never seen him have grandiose or snide about him which is more than we can say about most with a platform on twitter.

Just a normal blue who passes on information. I won’t always break news, granted, but I can at least confirm or deny the truth when I ask, hence why I don’t tweet when we’re linked with different players.

You can’t win, I’m a fraud but then when Fabrizio Romano quotes me yesterday I’m then a grass and a problem at the club ?

Anyway, I’m just a normal blue who gets a bit of information, that’s all in the grand scheme of things.

Taking away the fake ITKs, and I’ve no idea why someone would even do that, we’ve had some fine ITKs keeping the fans up to date over the years yet I see scorn and nastiness to nearly all of them.

Is it because some surround them in a bubble of pessimism to protect their vulnerability, plan jealousy or something darker?

The song and dance with some ITKs previously is what really grates people. The whole “I know something you don’t know, doo dah” and “I’ll tell you eventually”
