Why do people say that having BT compete with Sky is a good thing ?

It sucks massive donky d1ck.

Now instead of just having to pay for Sky to watch footy i have to pay for BT as well. People always say its great for the consumer, how the hell do they figure that ? It's awful for the consumer. It was the same with ESPN. Unless its on freeview i want everything on one channel, not spread out over multiple channels meaning i have to pay even more.

Who are these 'people'? Never heard anyone ever say this was going to be good for the viewers, its just an additional subscription they have to fork out.

Sadly it was a bit of a monopoly situation and whoever determined that it needed to be split out should've demanded (dunno how) that Sky reduce their prices in accordance with the % of games they lost to BT.

I agree, even though I'm in the States.

Now that NBC has taken over the league coverage I don't have to pay for 2 channels for a chance of watching Everton, I get all the channels as part of my package.

Sadly I don't see the UK ever getting a company that wants to provide a great service for a reasonable fee. You'll just have several companies trying to scab as much money as they can from people

It is utter bollocks. Sky now have 30% fewer matches yet the price goes up and up.

Anyone got BT's megasuperawesome fibre and BT sport thing?

In fact, i just quickly checked and even with the extra Sky Sports package on BT it's still about £30 a month cheaper.

Yeah but with Sky you get the dedicated football channel that has a few extra La Liga games though right?
Does the Scottish League still demand a subscription?

Regardless, it's all money in players and agents pockets keeping the most entertaining league in the world treading water until the next whopping increase lands. First footballer on £1million a week will be....
