I'd rather someone from Liverpool lift the trophy than anywhere else on the planet.

Gerrard will probably finish his career with us anyways.

Lets look at this quote, Gerrard is from Huyton, which is part of the borough of Sefton & Knowsley which them kopites like to remind us is also Kirkby, which is 'outside the city boundaries?'

It wouldn't mate it would always be painted red in the memories of the people of the city and the media. He'll never be seen as a representative of the people of Liverpool, just Liverpool FC.

And I do want England to win it
 

I was hoping everyone would have stopped being silly by now and let Terry be captain again.

Oh he banged some reserve players wife/girlfriend. So what? Probably happens at every club every season.

I would have to go out and be a serial killer or something if I watched the lego-haired twunt lift the cup.
 
It would not do Everton FC any good I admit that, but for the city of Liverpool as a place it would be more positive than negative if one of its sons lifted the World Cup.
 

I think you have lived away for too long.

Gerrard is not a son of Liverpool, hes a DJ hitting, 16 year knocking up, child running over in the car thug.
 
I'm not going to defend his character.

But any city in the World would be proud if one of their own lifted the World Cup.
