Saint Domingo

Player Valuation: £80m
Off the top of my head since the horror show of 2009.

Arteta - ACL
Yakubu - ACL
Jagielka -ACL
Anichebe - Medial ligaments and broken leg
Gosling ACL
Barkley - broken leg
Hibbert - rare virus
Besic - ACL
Gibson - everything
Osman - missed half a season
Pienaar - missed a whole season
Kone -ACL
Oviedo broken leg
Barkley - ruptured hamstring
Baines - ruptured calf
Coleman - double leg break
McCarthy - double leg break
Funes Mori - ACL
Bolasie ACL
Mangala - Knee ligaments
Siggurdson - knee injury

No other club has a list like this. It’s truly horrific, what is going wrong? Is it poor medical staff, rank bad luck, or because we used to buy injury prone players at cheaper prices? Is it something to do with our playing style?

Even the kids have received some unbelievably bad injuries in the youth team too.

Either way if we carry on like this success on the pitch will never happen.

Coleman also had that weird flesh-eating disease that almost cost him his foot.. remember that one?!

Shane Duffy lacerated his liver in that freak accident for the U23s.. which could've actually killed him.

Ligaments could be the a Goodison pitch or Finch farm.

Was it Arsenal (not sure now) who changed their training pitch grass because of injuries.

Always wonder about training on grounds that you don't play on. Away games would refute that of course, but it's more the ground not played on than the ground trained on, as in, these grounds are devoid of traffic for a week. What does that do to the surface? Harden it up?

Nothing to back this up of course, just a thought.

Couple of years before the start of your list but James Vaughan severing an artery while playing for us about sums up what ever can go wrong will go wrong while playing for Everton.

..not sure how many have been on the pitch at Goodison but it is very firm. The pitches at USM FF are exactly the same even after a soaking. They don’t forgive and i’m certain it contributes to the amount of knee injuries because studs get wedged into the ground.
