Why the Barca tactics aren't working for us

Last time I checked Naismith was in the starting eleven.

Lol-also, we were missing arguably our best players in Barkley

We will not be as good as barca-at least not until we get proper funding (even the money the RS get would give RM good money and would allow him to get quite a bit of an improvement on our squad).

Nobody moves. Nobody moves to the box, nobody moves to get the ball, nobody moves to pull others away from their position. We also have nobody who can do a killer pass to unlock a defence. Couple those things together, you have no chance at getting excellent chances.

That is the most alarming thing, the total lack of movement so the player with ball has to either play a 5 yard pass sideways or backwards. So frustrating seeing us string 40 passes together just to end up back on the halfway line with no hint of a chance.

the problem we have is that our players are not as good as some make them out to be.

McGeady has offered nothing apart from a goal this season. As a winger he is midtable, which is ironically where we are so if McGeady is deemed good enough to start in the league then we will reap those rewards.

Piennar is still classed as the player he was 4 years ago. He is injury prone now and not as effective as he was. He is one of the 'needed to replace' players that we never did. now Baines is struggling to build a repor with anyone that side.

Naismith is a terrible footballer. I love naisy to bits and the first team selections were justified. but as a whatever role he is, he isnt very good. He tends to score goals being in the right place at the right time, which is fantastic. But most other areas of his game arent that strong, like going back to Wolfsberg, every counter broke down when it went through him. He needs to be the ghost sort of player and we dont allow him to play that role, and expect him to be better than what he is.

Lukaku still isnt supported as a 28 million pound striker should be. Last season the story of most games was players going for goal rather than looking for the set up for their striker. It worked sometimes and didnt others. Point is lukakus 15 last year was good for the service he recieved. This year we arent treating him any different and have him run channels to find the ball half the time rather than have a team focus on how to get the ball to our top striker and put it on a plate for him.

Team structure is all wrong. We played 2 DM vs spurs when they played a more fluid midfield combo. The end result is that when it mattered they over ran us in the middle. There is no back up CM in the squad. as soon as MCcarthy is out we have no-one who can do that job for us and two sitting back isnt going to boss a midfield. Another issue that needs a player to address.

finally the team selections need to be thought out more. As much as i am not a fan of him, McGeady starting a game and being replaced by mirallas could turn a game just as much as anything else. If you know the game will be tough then we should plan verything out more. Sure we could be 4-0 up at half time with our best available 11 on the pitch, but only hindsight would tell us that. But if we look to win over 90 minutes then sometimes lukaku or eto'o on the bench to come on would make a much bigger impact than them playing 90 minutes and being marked out the game.

Just a few thoughts.
