Why we dont 'need' investment

Player Valuation: £950k
The following clubs have had investment and in the past we have been envious of them and wished to have what they have.

Aston Villa
Portsmouth
Birmingham
Liverpool

These clubs have actually gained nothing since their investment and in some cases have crashed and burned. Do we really want some random American to take us over akin to Aston Villa. Their fans on the forums are saying this should be their first XI
------------Guzan--------------
Hutton-Vlaar-Baker-Warnock
-------------Herd----------------
-------KEA---------Delph------
------------Ireland--------------
-----Wiemann------Bent--------

How poor is that team, i almost feel sorry for them that fans similar to us who were in a similar position to us are coming up with such a load of garbage, that team could be going down. If we had taken some random investment back when Villa did then this could have been us. There is only 2 clubs with the type of investment with any kind of positive result and that is City and Chelsea. I still feel that both these clubs will struggle when their owners leave.

It prompts the question, do we really need investment? Good management financially coupled with the pending financial fair play rules could work in our favour without having to get anyone in. If we keep producing through the youth team then we simply cant go wrong with our current policy, the chances of getting bad investment is a lot higher than getting good investment so no investment at all could be the best answer.

Lots of money spent on **** players = bad
No money = bad
Lots of money spent on good players = yes please.

Not that hard to work out, like. Villa bought the wrong players is all.

I disagree, I think Villa bought well but the investment was temporary and effectively Lerner then called in his debts by selling all the players he bought.

They had a great team when he bought players like A Young, Milner, Downing, Carew.
They then sold all them players.

Without investment we have got an extremely strong first 11 who can beat anyone and with the luck of no injuries can really push for a champions league place.

I'd prefer to stay how we are unless if we got a proven Man City type owner take over.

I disagree. Yes, Villa bought Young, Milner, Carew and downing but they also spent millions on Petrov, Reo-Coker, Knight, Delph, Davies, Harewood, luke young, shorey, sidwell, heskey, cueller and warnock. (Thats 68 million for that bunch and a wage bill the 4th biggest in the league).

Then they sold milner, young, downing and barry for big money and spent the return on Ireland (8million), bent (18 million), Given (3.5 million) and Nzogbia (10 million).

That's just being **** at transfers. The idea that they'd be better off if they had no money at all is baffling. No they'd be better off if they could actually pick a player. Which, thank the lord, we can.

If we'd given that money to Moyes we'd have moutinho, banaga and hazard operating alongside arteta, Fellaini, rooney and jelavic. And phil neville would probably be starting games too.

We still need investment, barring Chelski and ****teh, how many of the invest teams have spent well and actually kept a manager for more than 5 minutes?

hmm, we have a manager who is good at transfers, if we had anyone else you wouldn't be starting this thread. if you're happy with us challenging for top 6 then i suppose we may not need investment, but we still rely on selling a young starlet to get by. if you want us challenging for the league like every team in the league should be, then of course we need investment. would you honestly see city fans saying they didnt need investment to challenge for the title? laughable

You honestly think he'd leave Champions League football for us?

And also you know I don't think 7th and maybe having a crack at breaking the top six is what we should settle for. That's not job done, thats a failure.

it would help but it would need to be the right investment. i would hate to see any old mug take over the club and end up in a worse position than now.
