Why we dont 'need' investment

We do need investment if we want to compete further and although we have had a great start - clubs in the league are getting better. It going to be difficult to stay in the league look at Swansea and West Brom who seem to be improving all the time.

We don't need to be run like a billionaire club but one that can be financial stable and is able to buy decent players, keep them and build a sound club structure.

We also need a stadium. Get a sponsored one. Anything that will generate money.

Lots of money spent on **** players = bad
No money = bad
Lots of money spent on good players = yes please.

Not that hard to work out, like. Villa bought the wrong players is all.

Essentially you're right yeah. The wrong players and daft wages is a theme that runs through every single one of these takeovers.

Unless we have a team that is winning trophies every year we still need investment. In fact even if we had a team conquering Europe we'd still need investment.

Problem is there are too many evertonians that think top 6 and an occasional final appearance is good enough.

That first sentence sums it up perfectly. No matter where we are in the league, we will always want a bit more. Finishing 7th? A bit more investment would get us 4th. Finishing 4th? A bit more would win us the league. Win the league? A bit more would get us the Champions league trophy. And that is perfectly natural, we all want to win and want our team to do better.

And because of that, I can agree with your second sentence. I don't think anyone is truly happy with top 6 finishes, just that some see it as a glass ceiling in the present climate. No-one is saying that we shouldn't try to smash through it, just realistic enough to know that at the moment, it is very difficult to do.

I'm not Moyes biggest fan but acknowledge his gift for stability, if Fenway had bought us instead of the Sh1te his caution and their money could have pulled this club up by it's bootstraps.

A Sheikh Mansoor or Abramovich would be great but failing that just someone with a bit of forward thinking and some money to invest would be a start.

IMO, The abramovich's of this world would do away with Moyes after 6 months. Depending on what thier plans where and the bracket of spend would determine whether I supported that or not.

If we want to be a truly self-sustaining club then a Fenway style group and Moyles are the perfect fit.

Totally agree with the Fenway Style group statement, i bet they regret buying the Big Red. The fans will turn on them soon, bad yanks again!!!!

But, a group like them would not pay the rumoured price of 150 million. Were stuck with the current lot until we have a modern day example of Brewsters Millions.
