Tony Pulis emailed MOTD today fuming over the decision to send Huth off, and attached a picture as well. He must surely now be favourite to succeed Moyes.

i don't think we ever got into top gear, we looked at times as if we were going to start to get going but should have Prest on a bit more for the result. Their goal was a freak, took a big turin off the pitch. The early Bath for Cahill was a surprise though, is he injured?

LD's twitter said "hope he's okay" so appears to have a knock.

Poor team selection and changes, why didn't he play Jelly up front with El Straca behind in our standard formation instead of Cahill?
With Peanuts and Donovan wide we would have smashed them into Div1!

Do we ever?

Always the same.

And im sorry, you cant keep blaming Moyes, most of the players on that pitch played and beat City, a few days later and they draw against Wigan.

Yes Moyes must take some blame, but I honestly question the players attitude.

Pienaar was by far the best player on the pitch, not bad from a greedy money hungry judas.

Yeah..but beating Shi-tty doesn't mean we are capable of winning the league. The Wigan game was always going to be different..horses for courses. In the first 45, we looked threatening enough especially down the left side with Pienaar strutting his stuff. With a bit of 'positive' tinkering in the front third, maybe LD behind Straq (and Drenthe on the right) or maybe Jelly up top with Straq would of produced the goal/s we were craving for. The Neville substitution just managed to place two players out of position and as a result, we lost our grip on the game.

Edit: Come to think of it, Neville looks like he's playing out of position wherever he plays.

I hate to say this but I disagree.

Cech, Reina, Vorm, Szczesny, Given, Hart are all at least better than Howard.

Nope and Given is questionable. Given of three or four years ago? Yeah. Now? Questionable.

Fellaini's midfield partnerships have been pretty hit and miss since Arteta came back from the injury he suffered at Newcastle. When Arteta was out Fellaini hit a purple patch when he had either Osman or Pienaar partnering him in the middle of the park. Week in week out he dominated. The Fellaini/Rodwell pairing has never come close to it.

Moyes has the option to turn to Pienaar again I suppose but I suspect he brought him back to pacify Baines and shore up the left hand side. We need to see how Gibson pans out. Rodwell/Felli is not the magic bullet.

This.

For me we have a perfect opportunity whilst Donovan is still here to play three up front. Fellaini, Pienaar, Cahill will smash the majority of midfields, then have Drenthe, Jelavic and Donovan up front. I honestly don't know why we reverted back to the system that we've seen score about three goals in 28 games against the worst team in the league.

Only after Moyes quits.

I'd rather he figure it out while he's here. Unfortunately, that chance (of fielding that lineup) is slowly fading away.

Moyes will continue to get flak (deservedly so) as long as he carries on relying on players like Neville who clearly aren't suited to the task at hand.

The Neville sub today was without excuse.

There was absolutely NO REASON to bring him on. Not with that bench.

I've loved Neville in the past years for us but I think it's time for him to follow in his brother's footsteps and step away from the game in a playing capacity.

>_< Neville on for Cahill and then taking Strac off?

Pienaar gets MotM. He slotted in perfectly and his creativity was refreshing. I really hope he gets a chance in the middle with Drenthe on the wing. Those two could wreak a lot of havoc together. I mentioned this in another thread but I'll say it here as well; we saw something different from Strac in this game. He set up a few chances with some great crosses. He showed some intelligence, he's more than just a hard worker. Deserves to start next week.

I really have a hard time watching Everton when Felli is playing up high. Honestly its painful. Felli's main asset is that he breaks up the opposition and surges Everton forward. His impact is hugely reduced when he is playing high up.

TX, I anticipated this sub before we knew Moyes made it mate (circa 1550hrs in this thread), and I believe it boils down to Moyes opinion that he has no other player capable of captaining 'his' team, not a tactical change per se. :)

would love
Howard
Coleman Distin Jagielka Baines
Rodwell/Gibson Fellaini
Drente Donovan Pienaar
Jelly/Straq

in a 4-2-3-1 formation at home to the ****e teams like bolton and blackburn, cant believe that team would not score goals
i love moyes and everything he has done for us, but it is way too defensive, would rather someone like paul lambert who has a more attack minded approach, look at his record before and during this season, they have the worst squad in the division IMO.

Of course, the major problem of this formation is that none of these attacking midfielders are actually ours, we still have barkley, osman, cahill, vic, tolos to help out tho....****ing neville on for cahill, pfft

Laughing at all you tits blaming Moyels for that sub.

Its all kenwrongs fault for putting the Arteta money in to a piggy bank in The Dominicon Republic.

What other choice does he have HE HAD TO SELL aRTETA AND PIEnaar so its nolt his fault he had to take Cahill off and bring Neville on.

Kenwrong lied and said he would have money for new players, so where exactly were they today then Kenwrong? Exactly.

I for one am
fuming at Kenwrong and will be writing a letter to the
