If Wijnaldum was a sensible price, say around £15m, then it'd be a good question. Find it weird how some people can't see Wijnaldum is a good player who was in a truly poor side last season.

As it stands, Mata will be cheaper, which makes the whole thing a complete irrelevance - Mata is the better option.

He only turned up in a handful of home games and in just about no away games it was like they were playing with 10 men

I don't think Wijnaldum is as bad as some are making out but Mata is certainly the better player at this point

Winyaldum started off like a steam train last season but slowed to walking pace before long.

Mata is vastly superior to Wynaldum as a player but also as an influence on the squad. Having a player who has won what he has won and who goes about his business in the way he does would be a positive throughout the club.
