I am not sure I understand why Leeds care about this fella. He is not playing for them and doesn't want to, he has alienated the coaching staff and the fans alike. They bought him for 4M a year ago and are looking to x6 that number. I guess they might think he would set the Championhip alight over the next few months and they might do better in January with a richer club???
Its not like they are selling to a rival....

I suppose they bridle at a player refusing to honour his contract , despite being generously remunerated for doing so.
Personally I dislike footballers refusing to abide by their contract whether it’s to our benefit or not.
A contract is meant to be a binding agreement made in good faith by the parties involved , it is similar to an oath in that it is made in the presumption that you will honour it and that your word is good.
To unilaterally breach it , with no evidence of bad faith from the other signatories , reveals a disappointing level of dishonesty and self interest.

Yep negotiations are reported to be going on for weeks, if the club have gone this far they are trying to meet half way.

Leeds may need sponds, have an unhappy player and ever day that goes by prob holds up any incoming p,Ayers for them.

It’s not like they are selling to a rival....

All they want is as much money for him as possible.

I think their actions make perfect sense given that’s the goal. All the statements about him not being for sale, and making him train alone are purely performative.

If they say he’s not for sale, it tells bidding clubs they need to up their offer. If they leak to the media that he’s refusing to play and is training alone, that softens their fanbase for his departure.
