I mean it certainly won’t have helped Gnonto negotiations that we’ve triggered the Harrison clause and they can do nothing about it. They hated us anyway, they’re going to be saltier than an anchovy now.
Business is business if we offer what they want it will be accepted. They sold a few to Man United over the years and they are hated by Leeds

How have we. It is a loan. Leeds screwed themselves with changing a number of contracts to include a relegation clause that players could leave on loan if relegated. We not even paying a loan fee I dont think.
You reckon they’re not going to mind us taking over of their best players on loan whilst we negotiate for another of their best?

Still think a deal will get done but they’ll hate us all the way.

Thats difficult when you haven’t got much. A good relationship in business doesn’t hurt when it comes to the finer details.

Doesn't hurt but isn't necessary either. We've done nothing untoward. They put a daft clause in a player's contract, and we're taking advantage of it. They'd do the same.

Equally, they've got a player under contract for four more years and are playing hardball. We'd do exactly the same.

This is all business, and in the end the two clubs will probably do the business.

I mean. They haven’t screwed themsevles.

It was a safeguard incase of relegation meaning that they will not have to pay his wages on championship revenue. Pettiness from board to board, rarely happens as these are business people. The loan makes sense, they don’t have to pay his wages if he wants to leave. They extended his contract so he became an asset with strength of bargaining power.

If they come straight back up, they’re either getting the player back with a higher fee being demanded, or they’re getting the player back who will walk in their team.

If they don’t come back up, they’ve still got his contract length as a bargaining power for a sale.

There will be no sour grapes in regarding to Gnonto, we either meet their valuation, they compromise or they keep him. Boards of footbal clubs aren’t fans, they’re business people so if a price represents good value in their eyes they will act on it.

From a business perspective I agree. Leeds are safe and secure. I have a few mates who are Leeds fans. They do not see them coming back in their lifetime. Genuine view that at least one of them will be dead before the return. They are 65
