Why?? I'm not sure of the current obsession with attacking players got Bernard, Gordon, Iwobi and obviously Richy in there currently. Wide right possibly need reinforcing but it's at the back we need to strengthen now. Convince me otherwise.

Because apart from Richarlison none of the above offer much to the team, Bernard & Iwobi offer very little in terms of Assists and Goals and Gordon is just breaking into the first team. It’s plain to see we need a direct player with pace on the RW allowing Rodriguez to play as no10.

I agree that this would give us serious strength. Ancellotti would have to choose between Gomes better in the tackle) and Rodriguez (wizard on the ball) as the third CM, with Zaha or Richarlison on the right. That’s a very strong forward line.

It’s our defence that needs tightening up, though. Strengthening our defence is more of a priority than strengthening our attack.

Our first choice front 6 is fine.

We'd need a direct RB with pace more than anything with James coming in.

We also need options to rotate, or have different style players for different matches.

And that’s exactly what bringing in Zaha does, gives us different options.

We don’t need 3 Defensive mids in Doucoure, Allan & Gomes, maybe away to City & Liverpool but that’s it. A front 4 of Zaha, Rodriguez, Richarlison & DCL would be very strong with Doucoure & Allan playing central.

I agree we need to strengthen the defence but adding a pacey RW does that.

With Holgate fit a winger was priority, with him and now Branthwaite injured a CB is a must and takes priority.

Agree with last part.
But scratch iwobi and bernard. If we get any injuries to the first 11 we are back to playing the dross of last season. They were replaced for a reason.

Gomes and Doucoure are not defensive midfielders.
