Will next season be a write off?

Yes it will because we will have a new manager once again so it will be a case of it's his first season we can't judge yet, wait till he has all his own players etc. Gets a bit boring really

1 trophy in nearly 30 years proves that instant success is unrealistic. I'd ask you for your opinion but you'd just spout some nonsense about weasels.

So literally no one is expecting instant success. Thanks.

No. I'm probably in the minority, but I don't think our squad is as bad as everyone makes out.

Getting manager sorted with new captain, proper fitness and training regime + 3 - 4 new players (right back, wide right, centre mid) would make big difference.

Leicester spent 2 seasons getting rid of their ageing players and building a solid side as recently as 4 years ago.

Our problem isn’t just that we’ve got players who aren’t good enough, but our younger, hungry players are now seemingly throwing themselves in the shop window.

So we’ve got to build up and prove we’re worth sticking around for.

Nil Satis...

Nil Satis would be winning the league and champions league, though.

Expecting a manager to come in and win a cup when we haven’t for 26 years or get into Europe when we haven’t for 6 (?) years is not realistic, with the squad we currently have.

The problem Everton, Arsenal, Spurs etc have now is the top ten places in the league are much more competitive. Back in the Moyes days we could get to 6th - 7th consistently because there was only really a “big five” teams.

This is shown if you look at the gap between 4th and 10th over the past five years.

20/21 - 8 points
19/20 - 12 points
18/19 - 20 points
17/18 - 21 points
16/17 - 31 points

This increase in competitiveness means it’s less likely than ever to have consistent success. City are dominant now but they’re the exception and I can’t see that continuing when Pep leaves.

That’s why I’m more concerned about the club showing vision for a long term consistent play style and recruitment strategy than season by season results. If Brands is in charge then get him signing all the players and not the coach. If he does a crap job then get rid. At the moment we’re in a half way house due to the constant managerial Merry go round.

Let's go in thinking it's a write off and have low expectations. Then, when we hit some form, start believing we can do something. Then, when we inevitably bottle it, let the fume commence and forget we ever went into the season thinking it was a write off in the first place.

I would hope the new man does not come in and spin the line that everybody has got a clean slate it's there chance to prove themselves .
You would imagine if he doesn't know the players there should be someone at the club to give him the heads up.
Otherwise just give him recordings of last season's games a bottle of bleach and some tissues.
" He are lad make a team out of that [Poor language removed] "

Zero expectation for it. We need too many players if we want to play in a more expansive and attacking way. It also wouldn’t surprise me if Richarlison and Digne push for moves. I think it’s one giant mess and we just going to have accept a horror of a season.
