Funnily enough, I happen to be holidaying in Portugal at the moment. Last night Sporting's game was on the telly in the restaurant where I was eating. Anyone who saw the scenes at the end will have noticed a few of the Sporting players 'thanking' the fans, throwing shirts in etc. William Carvalho's fan engagement seemed that of a 'farewell' (if you were a blue looking for the slightest sign!)

..but it did I reckon. Maybe there's coverage of it somewhere on tinterweb.

Nah MAtty mate, we really do need a quality Centre mid who can pass a ball, and this ladreally can do that, think the way Gerrard used to be able to hit the channels to the runners, basically Deulofeu, Mirallas and especially Bolasie and Lukaku would thrive on it, not that i think we will get him mind you, think that ship sailed a whilst ago

Had a feeling that as soon as the Witsel stuff was over we'd be looking at going back in for this fella. Good thing too, because he's the better player frankly. Gonna want a wedge but if The Esk's comments are true (big if like) then hopefully we can get something moving.

While we do have a good number of dms I think the only one with a respectable passing range is Besic (we'll see about Gueye) as Barry's legs are too old to maneuver the space he needs to pick out the passes that will really take us forward as a team. It would be nice to have someone like him who is physically suited to the prem but also technically proficient enough to stand out in build up play.

Think he (to use a in word with the cool kids) is a Deep lying playmaker more than a true DM mate, and yeah suppose it is down to what we prioritize, a lot of game we will set up to counter like against Spurs - in those a depp playmaker would lilely be more important - quickly launching the counter, in ones when the opp sits back then obviously Mata or similar would be much more useful (the door unlocker shizz etc).

Suppoose it all depends on whats really happening, looks like we are still after a fair few players - who they are though god knows really
