For me, I am actually seeing this as somewhat of a positive because it'll only cement Ancelotti's case that we need to move a fair number of these players on.

Yes there's been chopping and changing over the past few years and we've utilised different tactics, but far too many aren't winners - he won't have that.

Two or three quality additions to the side, who actually have a winning mentality, will make the world of difference.

My biggest concern on this "project restart" would be that Everton would suffer more than most with a lack of summer/prep for next season.

It doesn't though, the season was over when we lost to arsenal, it was plainly obvious then that whenever this team has a chance to make a statement they'll bottle it, hence go on a run lose to spurs. Our fans have had enough over the last few years, if we're not qualifying for Europe then the season isn't even close to a success, doesn't make any difference to us fans if we finish 9th or 14th really.

The players clearly don't care, they make no effort so why should the fans really be that bothered anymore?
