Way too negative. Let's not give these owners an exuse to dumb down expectations.

I don't expect a "load" of upgrades. I expect a serious start to the process of upgrading our squad. Mykolenko and Beto will also need upgrading - but not this summer. It's all about prioritising the most pressing positions. That's not too much to ask for at all.
When was the last time we went and signed 3 first team players that integrated into the side and style of play as near as damnit instantly?

One thought: do these warm weather training breaks really benefit the team? It didn’t look like it last night. I personally find flying to the UAE pretty exhausting, especially with the time difference.
I don’t necessarily disagree, but I’d imagine their experience of that journey will be quite different from yours or mine.

Beto
Doucoure
Lindstrom
Harrison

Gana ???
Garner
Myko
Branthwaite
Tarkowski
O'Brien
Pickford

Alcaraz is a loan currently.
Tim Iroegbunam was subbed on.
Young was subbed on.

Of our 14 players to feature tonight, 2 nearly 3 are ooc, and 3 are loans currently. They need replacing or keeping just to stay still. Then you want or expect a load of upgrades? Lets give in to the dissenters and go with Myko and Beto not being up to the job and Branthwaite pinched. 9 of 14...

This situation is precarious.
To be fair, you’d argue that N’Diaye and McNeil would 100% be starting for us if fit. I expect we’ll take up the buy option on Alcaraz also. I feel like if we’d had both McNeil and N’Diaye a good few of our draws would’ve been wins

I take your point though, we do need a war chest in the summer to be able to at least steady the squad given how many loans and OOC players we have

I don’t know about the warm weather struggles. Same with extended break struggles. Every sports team have bye weeks. Canceled and rescheduled matches. Team building and training away from home. But someone always comes back to win the next match. When it’s your own club that loses, you question it.

If we didn’t have a decent amount of money to spend, I think they would have kept Thelwell on, considering he has managed to keep this squad going with no funds.

The fact they are letting him go, suggests to me that they are going to allow a big spend and want someone with a more proven record of spending big successfully instead of managing tight budgets successfully.

Is that this Angus chap though?

it’s the expectation that we want more

it’s a draw away plus they’re will be bumps on the rd

no doubt
Its nice to be in a position where we are disappointed to only get a point when we played poor. Shows the progress under Moyes. 16 points above the relegation zone and 8 games unbeaten. Its the stuff dreams are made of after the past few years. Wasn't long ago i expected to lose every game and get the odd draw which is basically what happened under Dyches stewardship this season.
