I'm currently in America, so obscure words, or pronunciations, are at the forefront of my mind. I asked my 7 year-old step-granddaughter to suggest a starting word this morning. She said "Quail!" but I had to explain the Q thing in Wordle. She then suggested "Tomato" (pronounced Tomaydo) so I assumed quail as a 5-letter word was just a lucky guess!Wordle 1,194 3/6

Exactly the same here. I took a long time off after the only word I've ever missed - PARER, a word that isn't even in the dictionary. (It's a paring knife, not a parer. It also broke their internal rules, which is to never take a 4-letter word and make it a 5-letter word with an R or S on the end.)
Can't remember snouty, it was about a year ago.
We'll all be on tenterhooks now. I wonder if there's a way to check previous words?
