Working from home?

Hidden pay cut for most....

I was working from home with 2 laptops and a tablet open all times, laptops plugged in mostly due to diabolical battery life.

Granted I didn't dare put the heating on so that didn't impact.

I couldn't stop popping over shop for snacks just to get out of house and have social contact so that was costing me daily.

I've now gone back to batch cooking and take a tin of mackerel for morning snack (colleagues probably wish I was still WFH) so probably spend less than 3 quid a day for food at work with no travel expenses on bike.

Although when it was icy last month I was spending 30 quid a week on bus and having pint a day waiting for bus change, all in all around 150 quid a month.

Little changes have big impacts on budgets, I can see how either scenario can be expensive for people.

When I used to work in an office all we did was fook around. Everyone smoked. Even the people who didn’t actually smoke pretended they smoked as could get out the office and chat bollix outside.

The local chippy to our offices had to shut during day time due to the offices going mainly WFH. But 1 less chippy means 1 less person in hospital. Save the NHS init

Hated it when my missus did it. Rolling out of bed starkers at 11 am and walking to the shower forgetting she’s on a teams call for the fourth time that week.

I’m fairly certain teams is measuring your eye to screen ratio, current location, real time blood pressure and current anal tone at all times

I do 2 days a week in the office. Probably about right. Appreciate the days at home, being able to drop the kids off at school etc.

It's difficult to get the young'uns in even for two days. I do feel like they are missing out on something - learning certain skills etc. Also quite isolated days for some of them.

Don’t know what made up job you have (probs none) but we have deadlines at mine. I never, ever miss mine. Doesn’t matter how many eps of Loose Women people watch if their work is getting done on time.
