I see that the least surprisingly news to ever come out of World Football was confirmed moments ago.

2030 World Cup venues confirmed, for Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Uruguay, Paraguay & Argentina.

2034 World Cup subsequently cleared for an unopposed World Cup bid by Saudi Arabia - which unfortunately was chosen.

Is now the correct time to accept that Gianni Infantino is, and always will be the worst thing to ever happen to football?

Tbf to Infantino, every secretary general of FIFA has been corrupt beyond belief. It's a mafia organisation.

I thought I’d hate Russia and Qatar when they were announced and surprisingly enjoyed the football at both with some brilliant knockout games.

Both excellent; but I fear the things which make football so popular won't be allowed for Saudi, i can't see Saudi relaxing cerfain rules which Qatar did.

Think the process of awarding a world cup to 3 considerations to fast track Saudi to hosting a World Cup is far worse than anything Blatter or Johannsen did, which is quite the achievement.

Awarding a grand total of 3 games to South America and probably 20-30 games to Morocco, ruling them out for another 12 years is quite something.

Will there be a table for comparable human rights violations, slave/worker deaths, and harassment of LGBTQ individuals alongside the track record of the qataris?

So for the next 10 years, and especially in the last 1 or 2 years before the 2034 World Cup, the media will be going into overdrive about human rights in Saudi Arabia, only to forget all about it again once the World Cup is over and everyone has packed up and gone home, whilst breathlessly talking about what a wonderful World Cup it was just like Qatar 2022. Meanwhile England will wear some sort of protest badge or make some sort of gesture before kick off for the first couple of group matches, only to abandon it after FIFA warns them they face possible expulsion from the tournament if they continue with it.
