World Cup/Euros

Great for FIFA, that. Of course he'd be open to it.

The pushback is likely to come from the rights holders - the domestic rights holders won't want their rights watered down by an eternal international schedule, and the Euro/World Cup rights holders probably don't want the renegotiation that would necessarily follow.

I'd be interested to see who wins that tilt.

Kind of wish Arsene was still in charge at Arsenal.

Some of his ideas are ridiculous. Leave the game as it is, we don’t need this or kick ins, you biff.

This.
We need less International games not more
International break is as boring as it is, far too many friendlies, now friendlies dressed up as competitive games. Rugby has the idea with how it does its qualifying rounds for the World Cup and there are not too many internationals as a result.

I don’t understand how the semi final comes weeks after 21/6 when everything opens up to normality and there is no social distancing at all needed, but they still won’t accept a full ground?

They want to alternate between the world cup and euros every year?

Good luck with getting that on TV, they'll be a riot from the people who just want to watch Coronation Street and Eastenders. Sometimes less is more, the euros and especially the world cup is special as it doesn't come around too often. As it stands I would be very lucky to see 10 more in my lifetime and that makes you savour it. Dilution by seeing it all the time in the same way they want to ensure the same teams in the CL will turn me off it all eventually. Just because they can make more money doesn't mean they should.

Money grabbing expansions alround going on at the moment, from worldwide international events to regional (Euro) expansions of club football is going to ruin the supply of players to these events. The top level events need C crewe vs Huddersfield, Sheff United vs Middlesborough etc etc to provide a breadth of players to choose from. Kill the supply, kill the 'main' event. They're boring too.

I swear they'll try to argue the case for the Champions league finalists qualifying for the European Championships next to "appeal to a more global audience".

Almost like they've got a random bad ideas generator they use.

As for Wenger, imagine him still being Arsenal manager and his deep unhappiness at extra internationals knackering his players. Weird.

The whole thing stinks to be perfectly honest.

I've got tickets, and considering the first game is in 65 days or so, I've no idea if i'm actually going to be able to attend any of the games i'm going to.

I find out at the end of the month, but the clarity is just so poor. Scotland only permitting 12,000 is not great, Dublin and Bilbao are losing their games, and for whatever reason, England stopping 45,000 from attending, and only allowing 22,500 for the final group game, it's just garbage.

For fans with tickets there are windows to give up tickets, but even then, I'd rather go... I've got tickets for Scotlands opening game, and that should be brilliant, why would I want to miss it? Yet guaranteed to get shafted.

Sorry Barney, but this is incredibly harsh. They are planning a tournament in the midst of a pandemic & trying to get it underway in countries which are still in a mess. In the mean time, with the best information you have been offered the option of a refund at least three times. I dont think they can do more that go with the flow.

You aren't really getting shafted mate. If it was in normal circumstances then yes it would have been poorly handled, but the government advice is changing constantly so you aren't going to get any assurances, and even if you did they could pull the plug any minute so I don't really think there's much else that can be done in this scenario.
