Sorry Barney, but this is incredibly harsh. They are planning a tournament in the midst of a pandemic & trying to get it underway in countries which are still in a mess. In the mean time, with the best information you have been offered the option of a refund at least three times. I dont think they can do more that go with the flow.

My issue is more the fact that i've said no, and they'll still tell me I can't go, only got tickets within GB & Ireland, so would have been nice to actually attend, having bought tickets in the first tranche without knowing who was playing who.

understood - my point is, as much as it is frustratin, they are planning a tournament in a pandemic - if you get to attend, it's a bonus not a right at the mo, if not you get your refund

No, my issue its we're 2 months away, so i've already had spend money outside of tickets.

Just think the organisation has been atrocious, I'm fully aware we're in a pandemic. Doesn't mean, I don't want to be left hanging on whether I'm proceeding with plans or not, when we're progressing.

I still had to make accomodation/transport plans to avoid over inflated prices. That's my gripe.

Get it's annoying, but think you are being completely unrealistic expecting full clarity. The venues still arent confirmed, never mind attendances or attendees. They are trying to change tyre's while the truck is moving here, a near impossible job.

It's rubbish you're out of pocket, but other than abandoning (which would have you our anyway) they are progressing as fast as they can. The "easy" option would have been no fans, still leaving you in the lurch, but instead they are sweating it to accommodate as many as possible
 

How do you think England will do you june folks. Think myself they could go the whole way if the right players are picked.

Ah, but the company that sold you all that ice cream made more in profits this week, and that's all that matters to them.

Pity they'll pay for it when you quit buying it for six months or six years, but I hear that old man Smith that owns the company was going to sell/retire/croak soon anyway. Shame for his kids, though.

You know they're desperate for cashflow when they start adding to the schedule and changing the rules to promote viewership. That worked out so well for NASCAR.

This is what the US wanted to do when they hosted their first World Cup. The rules that made the game a success everywhere else didn't attract the yank need to be perma-stimulated. Bigger goal mouths and more breaks (for ads) were thankfully rejected by fifa at the time.

For how long though?

The good news is that we have a whole generation that played the game as kids that would be just as outraged as you. That said, very few people lost their minds when the NHL shrank the goalie pads and got rid of the two-line pass rule to promote scoring.

I can't answer "for how long" without seeing the finances to know just how desperate they truly are. It's a massive risk. It's not worth running if the motivation is greed alone. If we're talking survival, that's a different story.
 
Just got 20/1 for Godrey to be included in the Euro squad on Betfair, with all the ongoing shenanigans could be worth a punt
