Agreed. He's not got the game for it. There's more to it than being a superb potter. Mentally, I'm not sure he's at the races to win big events.

I think that was Mark Allen's best chance of becoming world champion up in smoke. Last year, had he beaten a declining Selby, I think he would have gone on to win - Luca Brecel is very likely to go down in history as an attacking Stuart Bingham - but he missed out then and this year's draw was even more favourable in terms of getting to the final.

Higgins is never a man to count out - or to rely on these days - but I think he'll be in the final now. His half of the draw is very kind. The winner will, obviously, come from the other half.

Williams clearance a few weeks back does eclipse that tonight from Higgins. Yeah, even to now I think that's been the best snooker I've seen this season.

Bingham will be a tough challenge for Ronnie, has the chance to really neutralise Ronnie if he’s playing his best. I am expecting a Trump v Ronnie semi final still

Kyren Wilson is no slouch. I reckon he'll beat Higgins. I hope so anyway.
