Fair play to Jones. He's a world no. 40 odd so it's some achievement to put in a performance like that

Next years final is already sold out and tickets with about 3 tickets left for one of the semis...between £400 & £600. A quick glance shows that only top-tier front row seats are left from pretty much the 1st round and they'll soon be gone. It's a tournament that's quickly made live attendance unaffordable for a huge swathe of it's supporters so I think any moral argument to stay at the Crucible as a rejection of greed is hard to agree with.Really interesting clip during one of the mid breaks with steve davis and taking it away from the crucible. This looks like a liv golf in the making. Likes of wilson and bingham in that clip basically said show me the money and we're gone.

Aside from tradition for tradition's sake there's no real argument to stay in a venue that can't serve demand and where quite a few players have mentioned it no longer measures up in terms of facilities.

I’d have some sympathy for this view if I felt that a 3,000 capacity venue elsewhere would bring prices back down. For some reason, as I look at the glint in Barry Hearn’s eye, I suspect these prices are staying high anywhere…Next years final is already sold out and tickets with about 3 tickets left for one of the semis...between £400 & £600.
