World Snooker Championship

Ronnie is a marvel, but his ability to win again at his leisure is something of an indictment of the other top players. To be fair, Ronnie didn't have to beat a top 5 player in this tournament - he had a softish draw - but you can only beat what's in front of you and the others continuously fail to do that as well as O'Sullivan. He made mince of Vafaei, for example, a player who has often troubled other top stars. Robertson and Selby are, in my view, in decline. Higgins is finished. Trump is back in form, but I think the days of somebody dominating are over (with the exception of Ronnie, who seems to have everyone in his back pocket at the moment).

I never felt Ding was going to win today. But to be fair, it takes a special performance to beat O'Sullivan in a major final and there are only a few players truly capable of that - and few of them are at the party at the moment for whatever reason.
