Worst Everton debut

Glenn Keeley.
Still traumatised.

Just for context for those of us not old enough to remember.

If you're of a nervous disposition look away now.

I have defended Glenn Keeley many times on here and other Everton websites. Keeley was injured in pre season and hadn’t trained for many weeks when Kendall signed him on loan from Blackburn, Glenn told him he wasn’t match fit— Howard told him he’d be okay but he obviously wasn’t, it was down to Kendall completely. I’m not sure if it was before or later but Mickey Thomas and Kendall had a falling out over the same issue in reverse—Mickey refused to play for the reserves and Howard told him he had to prove his fitness, Mickey never played for Everton again and was sold not long after.

Let in 4 goals didn’t he?

Was that his first, and only appearance?

Remember he came into the team late because Wright? Got injured during the warmup.

Yes mate. We lost 4-3 i think and he never played for us again, i think he was on a short term contract and let go soon after.

Koldrup was extraordinary
I remember one of of coaches keeping out at ht throwing a ball for him to head it. Allegedly he hadn't headed a ball as a centre half before because Italian football was just played on the carpet
He only played that 1 game
What was Moysey thinking when he signed him?

Kroldrup would be up there.

Remember Jags getting roasted by Arsenal in one of the first games he played Centre half for us.
Keoldrup was awful, did he get subbed at half time because he couldn’t head the ball??

Separately was it Madar’s debut when he missed a sitter at Anfield?

Just looking at Wikipedia and it says there he was 6'' 4'' - can't be true!!?? left us after 31 days and went on to play 117 times for Fiorentina...was on the bench for the 2008 UEFA cup match

Rodrigol ('Rodrigo Beckham')(Rodrigo Juliano Lopes de Almeida) signed with a knee injury* which was missed on medical and ruptured a game in.

*Forsell, Gbamin, it's amazing how often history repeats itself round here...
Rodrigo’s debut wasn’t that bad. Came on against Spurs first game of the season. Had a few good little cameos. I remember him hitting the bar at home against Birmingham (awful game, Stern John put them 1 up).

I remember Moyes saying when he got injured that he was impressed with him and was ready to start.

Yeah I mean he obviously couid head a ball, just not to the standard of Prem footy. Could tell something was going amiss in training when we signed him for decent money but he wasn’t put straight into the team.
