It was much better when you only knew the officials name by reading it in the match day program
they were anonymous except for the odd few that consistently made bad decisions
Bobby Madley is not too bad lets the game flow lets players make tackles
worse one i can think of was Jon Moss fat mess who couldn't keep up with the game

On the other end, I always thought Phil dowd was one of the better refs. Just read he has been diagnosed with Parkinsons.

I remember him having a brilliant performance against Chelsea at Goodison (this was when Chelsea used to get every decision and everything would go their way) He was absolutely superb.

Mike Dean and Lee Mason are and have always been complete tits.

Clattenburg and Poll were terribly arrogant and loved the spotlight.

Clive Thomas probably the correct answer for most Evertonians.

Needs separating, because.
The refs that were obvious with their agenda and got away with it were in fact successful. Just never on Evertons account.
Whereas there is a town dump full of refs that were just downright inept. These fools are the worst because of their inability to recognise how awful they were.
