Worst Squad Since Early 2000s

Pickford Branthwaite and Ndiaye I will give you.

Lindstrom?

Gana and Mangala are alright prem centre mids, not super talented mate are they let’s be absolutely real.

Tarkowski? He’s circled the plughole his whole career. He’s a steady prem centre back. That’s it.

It’s a squad bereft of talent and athleticism - with a crap manager to boot.
There lays the problem

The Lindstrom? He was very proven in Denmark and Germany but Dyche gives him very few minutes due to lack of PL experience. Why the hell get him on loan if he hasn't got the Dyches PL experience excuse.

He had a torrid time in Italy, there’s a big question mark over him after that. Surely no debating that?

Could be a really talented lad, doesn’t mean he makes it in England.

Napoli made the same mistake as Dyche is..........playing him on the wing. When he played no.10 in Denmark and Germany Liverpool and Arsenal took interest. At no.10 he had something about him. We bring in 2 no.10's (Ndiaye & Lindstrom) yet played Doucoure and now McNeil there. I don't see the sense

Ahh so you’re seeing my point now.

The squad is woefully imbalanced. You’ve got two talented 10s there in N’Diaye and Lindstrom (potentially) and yet your two wingers that would leave are McNeil and Harrison - see the issue there?

Unless we drastically change formation and go 3-4-3, do you think we have the personnel for that?! It’s a mess.

Haven't read the thread but initial thoughts are as follows:

Mangala, Harrison, Lindstrom all know they aren't here next season, likely hate the manager and probably don't want to pull their tripes out for him. If so it's completely wrong, but it obviously happens within the game.

Keane, Doucoure, Calvert-Lewin, Gueye, Young all know they've got 25 games left as Everton players. A relegation won't affect them at all.

Coleman is here for the payday and adds nothing to the squad.

We have one absolutely diabolical left back in the squad, and no backup to him. In fact you could even argue that Ashley Young would be more effective at left back.

We do have a number of players that would get in many squads around mid-table, such as Branthwaite, Ndiaye and Pickford, but their quality is massively outweighed by the huge number of players that quite obviously aren't good enough for this division.

A new manager absolutely gets a lot more out of this squad though, without doubt.

"There's good players here. They may not have shown, but we need to remind ourselves of the good players here. We've got to polish them up a bit."

Dyche's own words, I agree with him. There aren't any that can carry a team but we should be comfortable in the league.

I don't think he's actually improved them. Maybe only McNeil. Branthwaite was always going to the very top. Doucoure has regressed after a purple patch.

Didn't the previous manager try more expansive footy..... and we spiralled? That was with Anthony Gordon and Richarlison available to him too. Not sure that this squad is sufficiently balanced or perhaps sufficiently "committed to the cause" (too many loanies and end of contractors) to force that high-energy expansive footy on any opposition, without shipping even more goals. Result is, Dyche tries to play the percentage game, go for solid (as possible) at the back, surrendering possession, looking for breakaways to grind out results to avoid relegation..... in the hope that atleast 3 others are far worse (or more niave).

We’ve been struggling with far better squads comparatively - Gordon, Richarlison, Onana all gone.
