Worst team to buy players from

Nope from Udinese, went back to Italy and later said he found the physicality of the English game too much.

Which was bizarre as he played once in his time here, my mum wouldn't let me write off broccoli that quickly so I always held a grudge.
Wasn't it Osman who wrote in his autobiography that Moyes tried to teach him to head the ball properly in training?

"On his very first day of training, the gaffer took him to one side and started doing heading practice with him, like you would with a seven-year-old. It was a case of holding the ball, saying: 'Are you ready? One, two, three – jump."

Yeah, he was 6ft 4, couldn't jump or head the ball properly. Decent on the ball though, but this was 2005 and centre halves had to defend first and foremost.

Here I am scratching my head wondering who we should be buying from! We've been pants for so long. Used to be Barnsley, Southampton, Sheffield Utd and lately Norwich

It's 100% Liverpool. Massively overpriced, already on big wages, usually overrated. I bet some mug gives them 30m for Keita

The chat in the transfers thread got me thinking about red flag teams to buy players from. Ones that, over the years, we just seem to have been done by on transfers.

Arsenal springs to mind. Hughes, Wright, Walcott, Iwobi. Far from raging success stories.

I'm sure there's other teams we should swerve. Who and why?
Essentially it is the reserve teams of anyone we buy from, that is usually the role of the 'talent' we acquire.

Pulled out pants down over Williams and Siggy. Williams was made out to be a Welsh Sergio Ramos. Con artists.
They can't be con artists can they? The con artists are the scouts we employ and then managers/directors of footie who spend somebody else's money and get paid to do it!

I would say Everton, but we don't even sell players anymore. They just see out their contracts before disappearing from the game forever. Nobody will pay for them.

Looking at that list, bar Rooney (and to a lesser degree Lescott and Vlasic) there haven’t been any major successes. Big Dunc at Newcastle, Jeffers at Arsenal, Michael Ball at Rangers, Nick Barmby at the RS, players that did next to nothing at their new clubs. Fellaini was the poster boy for United’s demise and their putrid football while Lukaku never looked right there (done well at Inter since). Jack Rodwell tops the lot as he benefited big time from the ‘English player’ hype in rinsing two clubs.

Of those who aren’t on the list as they were sold cheap, Beardsley and Materazzi are the two that stand out who did well.
