Really hard to care about finishing mid table whereas England winning the World Cup would result in lots of people celebrating and being happy, I might actually remember it beyond the next day.

Everton finishing top 10 is a load of absolute nothingness and would just blend in with the previous 25 years of nothingness.

A fella who I work with asks these "would you rather" questions all the time. Comes out with some really dark ones as well. I won't repeat them on here but you can imagine. His poor mum.

And cat.
One of my mates does it too, would you rather get punched in the face or kicked in the balls....etc

I think this is the best question to ask on here. I know absolutely nobody will accept Everton getting relegated to see England win the WC so that question would be stupid. I have a better question. Would you be willing to accept Everton finishing outside the top 10 to see England winning the WC? Let's just say that if England don't win the WC then Everton will finish 10th without making any of the European spots.
I bet at least 10 folk would answer yes to that.

18 people said yes to this...

Never underestimate GOT dear Emir, never.

As posted elsewhere, I'm quite pleased when England win competitive matches,

I'd be delighted if they actually won the World Cup, more for the fact that it would massively wind up the neighbours than any weird/noncy flagshagging 'glory' as an Englishman.

The crucial difference between Everton and England is that when England lose, I'm genuinely not bothered by it. When Everton lose I'll try to brush it off but it's always there, eating away until the next game.

I voted Everton 10th but honestly, we've been so crap for so long I'd settle for survival with a 2 or 3 memorable performances thrown in for enjoyment.

It's all about survival for the next few months/years. I'd happily trade England failing to qualify for the next 10 major tournaments for that.

We're the santa clause being real option?

Top half lads, it's coming home

What’s the Top 10?

Lowered our standards here, haven’t we? Everton qualify for the conference league or England win the World Cup then I’m picking Everton.

England to win the World Cup or Everton to have a side who give a toss, I choose Everton.

If Everton comet's 10 it actually papers over a lot of cracks, we need this sorted, not a false dawn
If the alternatives are only 10th or relegation, it's a Draconian solution and who's to say with absolute certainty if your wrong or right...Would we actually get promoted in the 1st 2 seasons or do a Sunderland.

All in all, sod england - give me 10th...and worry about the cracks later.
