Yeah and we all know Martinez was riding off the back of the solid defensive schooling Moyes gave to them players who were handed to Martinez in his first season, it was not long before they’d been taken down a different path of leaking shed loads of goals but winning the possession under the Spanish fraud.

I can’t believe you are attributing our solid defending in Martinez’s first season to that man himself.

What he did on a shoe string budget, was the last time we were truly a solid hard to score against side, makes you wonder what he could have done here with 300m to spend.

I’d have his defending back in a heart beat, the last time we lived up to our tradition of having a good defence was under Moyes.

Martinez defensive record was down to Moyes, he handed over a well schooled solid defensive and brown shoes turned it into a shadow of its former self till he was sacked...for his defensive coaching.

No, but he would be the name on the paper hidden within the 'break glass if in danger of relegation' panel. In other words, this seasons Allardyce if needed. He did a good job in that role with West Ham I thought, but that doesn't mean he would be the guy to take the club forward.

I now think Silva will likely go but if possible wouldn't want to see the trigger pulled before end of season. I just think you get a much better chance of getting the best appointment then.
