Get this for quite a joke.
trump snr left his children properties that had been declared worth much less than their market worth, and so avoided the higher gift tax premium. approx 7 years later the children sold these properties for 16 times their declared values.
It's the same con, as inflating the value of properties like trump jnr did only a few years ago to leverage better rates on bank loans against said properties.

Oh and to your point, there is a link between Chesty la Roux and trump snr. But it is as dark and bleak a link as is nearly possible to find.
