WW3

What they don't talk about in the open is how they had to rescue europe (not the uk) because they couldn't allow all the the nazi innovation to be stripped out by their pals from russia. The nazis had enough heavy water to make a bomb (between two competing firms), and they'd put more effort into rocketry than anyone. Had the iron curtain fallen on the Atlantic wall, instead of through Berlin, then there would be no europe, not even now, and stalin would probably lead mao at the top of the all time killed table. Grim thinking about.
Thank you for that. Loads of love Wernher xxx

We only finished paying our WWII loans back to the US and Canada in the early 2000's
Took us 60 years to pay them back (With 2% interest per year btw)

Going on like they stepped in on the interest of democracy. Paid mercenaries more like.

So as not to seem like bashing those that gave their today so that we could have a tomorrow...

I've been to a few of these, and it is a humbling experience.

I think more likely a stalemate at best to be honest mate.
America was crucial in the Atlantic sustaining us with food/weapons etc. I like to think we would have held out but mercifully, it's all moot anyway.
Either way, it's incredibly sad it has came to this given the backing we've gave them across the Middle East.
We wouldn't have been speaking German without them. It would have been Russian.

The Nazi's couldn't penetrate the Channel with troops mate, and that was before they decided to get a bit frisky on the Eastern front.

Quite how you think the Russian's would have done it in the face of our Navy and Air Force whilst being massively extended far further than the Germans ever did and having lost literally millions of personnel I'm not sure.

The Nazies would have lost regardless imo. But it's anyone's guess where the border between the West and the Soviet Union would have eventually been drawn.
The Soviet Union would have had the same borders, but the Warsaw Pact Countries would be most of mainland Europe with the Nordic/ Scandinavian countries as they are now. Would they have stopped at France/ Belgium/ Luxembourg? Maybe - but I think the temptation to go into Spain and rout fascism would have pulled the Soviets through France as well. I don't see the British Isles being taken in this alternative universe either.

Now in this timeline would Communism hit a critical mass to survive or would it have crumbled even earlier? How would the east have fared - China/ Japan/ etc and would the USA have got involved there without getting into the European and North African conflict? In fact would North Africa have fallen to British colonialism for a period of time?

Or it could have all been fought to a stalemate with UK in charge of itself, Germany in western Europe and the USSR in eastern Europe - so a little like it could end up anyway....
