we could have picked hartson up for 500k to do the knock down job.

this infatuation with the long ball up to the mildly short johnson is getting on my tits.

this infatuation with the long ball up to the stocky but not massive yakubu is getting on my tits.

this infatuation with the long ball up to the usually horizontal mcfadden is getting on my tits.

no [Poor language removed] wonder yobo and lescott were playing upfront tonight.

someone get a grip somewhere.

Jesus were jumping on Yakubu quick enough aren't we. Surely he needs at least a season, I mean Faddy has had 4 and he's only now getting the credit he deserves for his bollocks performances.

no credit from me for the fadmeister.

i saw yakubu this evening, and i didnt like it - there were times he was pressuring and then just gave up.

anichebe was 10 times the player yak was, and only got 15 minutes compared to yakubus 75.

utter utter baloney.

get a rocket up him moyes, and dont let him forget it.

This long ball [Poor language removed] needs to stop because the players receiving it arent players made for it. But we have so many players who are so terribly [Poor language removed] with the ball, aka hibbert, neville, even osman runs into no-mans land half the time. Moyes isnt going to do anything about this though and we all know it.

MOYES OUT
MOURINHO IN

Tinged with rose, I see thee so clearly, my dear. ;)

well, maybe my cross hairs arent tinted with the blood for certain other strikers or striker.

i have said elsewhere there is a reason for artetas bullish protective nature of penalty duty.

how many did johnson get for palace?

rusty or narked by the vegetable of a ref?

Yakubu was [Poor language removed] tonight ghost and to think we paid 11 million for him thats more worrying he should take a look at vic tonight vic made a difference and cost nothing.

Well it seems everyone here felt Yakubu was [Poor language removed] before he arrived, so its only to be expected.

i hope it match sharpness/fitness.

i dont want everton to eat an 11.25 mill sandwich like he could possibly be.

The only consolation is he was equally as lazy an as 'uninterested' at Boro and Portsmouth and he somehow scored a good amount there so heres hoping ay?

Unless he scores regularly, fans will turn on Yakubu quickly.

Well said he looked as if he didn't give a toss at least with Victor the endeavor is always there Yak has not been here long enough to be disillusioned by Neville and Hibbets 40yard punts

Maybe Yakubu's real age of 38 is starting to catch up on him and can no longer pretend to be in his early 20's.

Long ball stuff was to be expected last night, lets face it. Injuries really hit us in midfield with four of our first choice midfielders out (Grav, Arteta, Cahill and Pienaar). All of those are better on the ball than what we had last night.

So we went into the game with two midfielders who's technical ability is limited and another who is easily bundled off of the ball. When you have defenders of limited technical means as well as a midfield that has been bossed it's inevitable that a lot of long balls will be played and our attack really doesn't suit long balls at all. Our threat improved once Anichebe was on the field because that's what he's good at.

When we have some semblance of a midfield available again then I suspect we'll start to see more of Yakubu.
