Rather we sold him, forget what we paid, thats gone, but next summer it will be harder to get anything back on him, surely we could of got something for him now, like anything, its not like there are only a few days left of the window.
Dont get me wrong, i dont want to see him play again, but if we are selling to buy all we are going to replace him with is a loan at best or nothing

I suspect its all about amortisation.

If we sold him now, for a massive loss, not only do we lose money, but accounting wise we also lose money.

As you say, the money is gone, its all about making it look pretty on the balance sheet.

Creative accounting.

We get some of his wages off the wage bill and next year hes worth less on our books, which lessens the hit a little.

Always want to sell the deadwood but it’s pretty hard because other clubs know we are mug (overpaying, thanks Walsh) and want to take advantage by offering peanuts.

I really liked Koeman but Jesus Christ, if it was him that was responsible for us spending £30m on this fella then he should never manage in club football again.

2 years and a horrific injury later we're desperate to palm him off on loan somewhere. A huge amount of money down the toilet.

due to the very short window i think in the last week premier league clubs will get seriously panicky and we will get rid of most of our deadwood. hope so anyway!

I wish we could sell him for what ever and get him of the books but am I also right if he is loaned out that is running his contract down so he could pee off on a free.
For me don't care as long as it is goodbye.
