I don’t get it. Not playing for a year will do them any good when getting a contract elsewhere?But they must have got the best contract here in their careers?

....I imagine the likes of Bolasie and Besic we’re keen to find a club but perhaps the current financial situation meant there were no takers.

As you say, it’s in neither interest to not play. Another factor is January isn’t too far away.
