I wonder if Koeman will play him every single game because he's spent so much money on him?

Hypothetically i wonder if a different manager would do the same?

I think hes an absolute donkey and a goal today plus one of his random crosses getting an assist every so often wont change my mind.

Redmond has been good for southampton this season and was £18mil cheaper.

I cant believe we signed this guy, anyone whose seen him play or even just looked at his stats can see that hes not worth the money and wont deliver for us.

Deulofeu 1st half of last season was top class and is not getting a run of games to get his confidence back up due to this donkey.

Just adds to my anti-Koeman stance i suppose.

Deulofeu has had his chances, he doesnt take them. he is nowhere near good enough on a consistent basis. Loads of ability but no point if he leaves it all on the training ground.

How good was he 1st half of last season before getting dropped for Lennons superb 3 or 4 games?

Hes always been good when played consistently.

He really hasnt, he blows hot and cold. If he isnt hot then he may as well not be out there. He did have a good purple patch but most players get them at some point.

It would probably help his cause if he did look like he was about to die after running around for 20 minutes.

Dont get me wrong, I like him, and I want him to succeed, there is a player in there, but on current form he doesnt warrant anything more than what he is getting right now.

I think his form is about him being benched every game...hes done well for Spain U21s as he knows the manager rates him.

To be honest I only stuck the game on after about 60mins and saw his goal and then him losing the ball and overhitting crosses...

He did have a good shot though from 30 yards out which would never have beaten a premier league keeper.
